American appliance makers
Every line below is a quote from the manufacturer, with the page it came from and the date it was read.
| Manufacturer | Origin | The maker’s own words |
|---|---|---|
| HotHandsCompany-level claim | Made in USA, as claimed | MADE IN THE USA |
| Jiffy SteamerCompany-level claim | Made in USA, as claimed | We proudly design and manufacture our products in Union City, Tennessee, United States of America for use around the globe. |
A small shelf, and the reason it is small
Appliances are assembled from hundreds of bought-in parts, which is the category where a single country is hardest to claim honestly. Most of the pages read for this shelf say nothing at all: two of the four fetched carried no origin-shaped sentence anywhere.
Jiffy Steamer is the one that answers properly, with both verbs and a town:
We proudly design and manufacture our products in Union City, Tennessee, United States of America for use around the globe.
Designed and manufactured, in a named town, with the certifications listed separately afterwards as UL, cUL, CSA, NOM, CE and TUV/GS. The phrase "for use around the globe" is about where the steamers end up, not where they come from, which is worth saying because an automatic check for qualifying words flags it and a reader would not.
HotHands is the other kind of entry: a MADE IN THE USA line repeated twice with no sentence behind it. It is recorded, and the record says that is all there is.
