One brand, three answers, one page

Corelle answers the origin question three times in its own FAQ, a question apart each time. The Vitrelle glass plates and bowls are "proudly made in the USA". The MilkGlass dinnerware "is manufactured in China". The Stoneware dinnerware "is manufactured in China".

Three plain sentences, no inference required, and a shopper who reads only the first one walks away with a wrong idea about two thirds of the catalogue.

Studio makers say it shortest

The potteries and glassworks in this list tend to give a place rather than a country: Cambridge, Ohio. Shepherdsville. The Blue Ridge Mountains. West Virginia. A named American town is a stronger statement than a country, because it can be checked.
