A small shelf, and we would rather say so

Two makers. This is one of the thinnest pages on the site, and both entries arrived the hard way: Jackson Kayak's page answered an automated request with a rate limit and had been written off as unreachable, and it took a paced retry to read it at all.

Where the claim sits in the sentence

Crescent is the plainer of the two. Its homepage says the watercraft are designed, manufactured and assembled in the USA, listing all three steps rather than the last one, which matters for a moulded boat: assembly alone is the step a brand can do here after the hull arrives from somewhere else.

Jackson Kayak buries its claim where no keyword search would look for it, at the end of a sentence about who owns the company: family-run, Made in USA business. The page also says the company was founded in Sparta, Tennessee in 2003, and that is quoted here for exactly what it says. Where a company was founded is not the same statement as where its boats are moulded today, even when the answer turns out to be the same place.
