American musical instrument makers
Every line below is a quote from the manufacturer, with the page it came from and the date it was read.
| Manufacturer | Origin | The maker’s own words |
|---|---|---|
| Taylor GuitarsCompany-level claim | Varies by product | (Taylor does not manufacture any guitars in Asia.) |
One maker, and one of the most candid sentences in this directory
Taylor Guitars could have said "handcrafted in California" and stopped. What it says instead is that it "produces hundreds of guitars per day exclusively in two factory complexes in the U.S and Mexico: El Cajon, California, and in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico."
Then it adds a parenthesis: "(Taylor does not manufacture any guitars in Asia.)"
Two countries named, a third ruled out, and no attempt to let the American half stand for the whole. That is why this entry reads as varying rather than as an American claim, and the label is not a criticism. It is what the company said.
What the page does not say is which guitar comes out of which factory, so a buyer still has to look at the product. This is the smallest shelf on the site and it exists because the one entry on it is a good one.
