| Jackson FurnitureCompany-level claim | Made in USA, with a qualifier | A lot has changed in the furniture industry since 1933. Recent developments, such as the closing of major textile plants in the U.S., have forced us to go overseas for products like fabrics and leathers that are no longer available here in mass quantities. The covers on our products may be made elsewhere, but for nearly all of our products, employees in our American factories build the frames and apply the cover. While many of our components, including our recliner mechanisms, are fabricated by our dedicated employees in this country, we also consider international suppliers and laborers for some parts - such as handles, massagers and swivel bases - in order to build long-lasting furniture at an accessible price. |
| Trex Outdoor FurnitureCompany-level claim | Made in USA, as claimed | Trex Outdoor Furniture is proudly made in the USA, with manufacturing facilities in Syracuse, Indiana, and Roxboro, North Carolina. |
The most specific qualifier we have published
Jackson Furniture does not say "some components are imported". It says which ones, and why:
The covers on our products may be made elsewhere, but for nearly all of our products, employees in our American factories build the frames and apply the cover.
Then it names the reason, the closing of major US textile plants, and the parts it buys internationally: handles, massagers and swivel bases. You can picture the recliner and point at the pieces.
Hoohobbers does the same thing in miniature. Its factory is in downtown Chicago, and its Moses baskets come from overseas "as they are constructed from reeds not grown in the US". A maker explaining why something is imported is rare enough to be worth stopping at.
Two we read and did not record
Homestretch Furniture's page says nothing about where its furniture is made.
Amana Furniture is a different case. Much of what its page advertises is American-made furniture by Bradington-Young and Temple Furniture, which are other companies. Those are somebody else's claims, quoted by a shop. The page does mention "Amana-made items" without saying where they are made, so there is nothing here we can attribute to Amana itself.
