Where Pawleys Island hammock stands are made
Pawleys Island makes the TRI-BEAM hammock stand in the United States and imports the Breeze Arc. Both statements live in one paragraph on one page, a sentence apart.
| Product | Origin | The maker’s own words |
|---|---|---|
| TRI-BEAM hammock stand | Made in USA, as claimed | The TRI-BEAM® Hammock Stand is made here in the USA where our experienced welders attach foot poles to base poles using our patented 360-degree Right Connection weld. |
| Breeze Arc hammock stand | Made outside the USA | The Breeze Arc Stand is imported and does not have the Right Connection weld or Cape Shield coating, but is still rust resistant. |
One paragraph, two opposite answers
This is a compact example of why origin is recorded per product rather than per company.
A reader skimming that paragraph takes in welders, a patented weld, a powder coating process and years of enjoyment, and the American claim lands. The next sentence says the other stand is imported and lacks both the weld and the coating. Stop reading one sentence early and you have the wrong answer about half the range.
For a while this directory had the same problem in miniature. Both stands were recorded against the whole paragraph, so the page showed the American sentence twice, once under each stand, including under the imported one. Each is now carved to the sentence that is actually about it.
The company volunteers what the cheaper stand lacks
The sentence about the Breeze Arc does not stop at imported. It says the stand does not have the Right Connection weld or the Cape Shield coating, and then says it is still rust resistant.
That is a company describing the tradeoff in its own cheaper product, in the paragraph selling the dearer one. It did not have to.
What is still unanswered
Every claim here is about a stand. A hammock stand is not a hammock, and this page says nothing about where the hammocks are made, so no claim about them is recorded.
